Department of Dermatology, Veneriology & Leprosy
From keloids, or the growth of extra scar tissues, and vitiligo, a skin condition in which white patches occur, to hair loss and eczema, a disorder with severe itching and oozing, the department offers various detection measures and treatment. Some of the treatments include iontophoresis, or passage of electrical current through skin.
The department also offers phototherapy, whereby ultraviolet (UV) light is used to check the rapid growth of new skin cells, to treat psoriasis. A patch testing facility is available to detect the cause of eczema. A slew of niche services including laser treatments and popular dermatosurgeries like hair transplant and mole removal are available. An upgraded photo therapy and a diagnostic laboratory are also available. The latter is involved in bed side investigations such as KOH mount, slit skin smear for AFB and Giemsa stains for Herpes. Skin biopsy and Immunofluoresence are other special investigation
RIMS is equipped with state of the art lasers and a fully functional hair transplantation OT. The centre is dedicated to cosmetic, surgical, and laser treatment for pigmentation, red spots, hair removal and hair transplantation.
Procedures such as laser removal of hair / scars / tattoos, in addition to treatment of a variety of other cosmetic skin disorders are being done. The centre is equipped with the latest lasers to cater to the various needs of the patients.

Hair Transplantation Unit, cosmetic procedures such as melanocyte grafting and targeted phototherapy for vitiligo are being offered. Other cosmetic procedure like botox treatment for wrinkles and targeted phototherapy for vitiligo will also be offered soon.
