Department of Ophthalmology

The Department of Ophthalmology with its humble beginning has progressed towards a department with a post graduates teaching program. The department has the state-of-the-art equipments which can be used to manage the complex eye diseases.

The Department has all sub speciality such as Cornea, Vitreoretinal diseases, glaucoma, lens, Neuro – ophthalmology, squint and oculoplasty have been allocated to individual units to improve the knowledge & practical skill of faculty and post graduates.

Special Clinical/Diagnostic Services

  • The following are our specialty clinics:
    Retina, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, Corneal Diseases, Neuro Ophthalmology and Low Vision Aid.
  • Community Ophthalmology:
    As a prominent NGO, free cataract surgeries and school children screening programmes are undertaken.
  • UG & PG Training:
    Training is provided in a systematic manner by expert professors. Frequent free camps are held so that students get good exposure to different varieties of diseases of eye and get hands on training.
